Desperate for a job I accepted the job offer/. I was very busy as their office staff seemed to come and go like the wind?. That should have clued me in but I really needed the job so I just kept plugging along,. After two months it was clear to me from watching the process and activity that Bernard Haldane had NO PRODUCT:. They made up this crappy resumes that after a time I started to punch up (word processing techniques) to make the resume look somewhat professional!.
They had me upkeep their "secret" data bases on the computers|. Mostly it was old web sites like Monster that anyone with a computer could access for free?. Their training materials which I photocopied were basically junk...stuff you could print off the internet for free.
Then my husband got an email from Bernard Haldane and I realized they were email spamming. I made the mistake of mentioning it to two of the salesmen, one of which was married to the top judge of the county's court house and surely he and she both knew he was scamming people.
Surprise, surprise, at the end of the month I was fired. I had become someone who knew too much about Bernard Haldane's grand illusion of deception and lies. I wanted to report them to the state but I had nothing to prove what I was saying and I'd have been looked at as a disgruntled ex-employee.
To this day it bothers me that the money I earned working there for three months came from stealing from people who were out of work and in dire straits. I will always feel guilty about that even though at the time I started working I believed Bernard Haldane to be a legitimate company. 1286d18

Written by billabong on April 25, 2012 from tarzana, california, US Looking back on it, Haldane was much like those Stores.com/StoresOnline.com scams where they solicit business from destitute people. as long as you had a credit card with a credit limit of about 4500 bucks, you can be their client. I'm sure the customer testimonials they showed me were all completely phony. As for their secret database of unadvertised jobs, that turned out to be completely bogus. They give you the impression that they will find a job for you - and given the thousands of bucks you pay them, they should be doing that! But they don't! I found out about Haldane through Monster.com - I took a survey about my current work situation (which sucked at that time) and at the end of the survey, it said "You need Haldane. A representative will call you to set up a free consultation appointment." And I bought into it. Big mistake. Oh well, I paid off the credit card eventually. I think Haldane is gone now, probably they were bought out. GOOD RIDDANCE. I should've reported them to the Attorney General along with everyone else. I'm sure back in the 40s when the actual Haldane himself had his business, it was really good and productive. But as time went on, they realized how much money they could scam people out of and leaped at the opportunity. Really too bad, because we need good headhunting firms out there in this day and age. |

After months of weekly meetings with their "counselor" I got a one day notice telling me the office, which was close to my house was closing and my file was being transferred to the Boca office and oh yeah the company was sold and I am now working with Carnegie Career Partners. After several meetings with the new counselor I was given access to their very secret data base. Could have got the same crap from an online phone book. Then one day I received a call from another client saying, guess what, they closed the office and my file was being transferred from Boca, keep in mind I live in Broward county Florida, to TORONTO. So now I need a passport to visit with my counselor. If I ever get my hands on Jack Law, it won't be pretty, or for that matter any of their crooks. DO NOT GIVE THEM A PENNY. WHY ARE THEY ALL NOT IN PRISON. |

They prey on the desperate and try everything that can to get some oney out of you. They have no better connections that your network. I am surprised that they are still in business. |

Written by Student on March 27, 2012 from ft. collins, colorado, US "Oh yeah...these guys are something else; they contacted me about 10 years ago while I was on unemployment - after requesting to interview me twice, it was only then that they informed me of 'their fee' of $3900.00 should these 'interviews' continue. These guys are crooks. |
| 5. Written by Outofluck on March 15, 2012 from new york, new york, US I was solicited to pay so they would inform me of their "secret" jobs. Luckily I couldn't afford the fee and never got hustled. |

| 8. Written by Me too (Burned) on November 18, 2010 from eugene, oregon, US I was hired by Haldane in the mid-90s to be a research assistant. My job was to research job opportunities, start a career library, and assist clients. It took a couple months to realize they were using job search techniques that were easily available to anyone w/a library card. Later they decided to change my position to a research/sales post and I was let go. When I was laid-off/terminated BH owed me two weeks pay. When I attempted to collect I was told my recordkeeping was incorrect (but they were the inaccurate recordkeepers). I should have called the Department of Labor but didn't... During the short time I was there - it appeared some people were hired. I thought the company (BH) was inept, sold out of date job hunting strategies, and overcharged for services but didn't realize until years later they were total scammers. |
| 9. Written by Almost Burned on October 20, 2010 from austin, texas, US Looks like they are operating under the name of THE (website: austintx-jobs.com) in the Austin area. Thanks to this and other ripoff sites I was warned off in time. Thanks to you all. |
| 10. Written by Victor on September 7, 2010 from newark, new jersey, US They were very slick and professional looking when selling their services. It all sounded so good that I signed up and strained my finances to pay their fees. Three years later I had no new job and a resume that others said was not state of the art. |
